In His Steps – A Study Through 1 Peter
What does it look like to follow Jesus when faith is costly, culture pushes back, and suffering is real?
In In His Steps, we will walk verse by verse through the book of 1 Peter, discovering how God calls His people to live with hope, holiness, and endurance as strangers in a broken world. Written to believers facing pressure and rejection, 1 Peter reminds us that suffering is not a detour from the Christian life—it is often the pathway God uses to shape us into the likeness of Christ.
Anchored in 1 Peter 2:21, this series will show how Jesus not only saves us through His suffering, but also leaves us an example to follow. As we trace Peter’s pastoral encouragement, we will see how the gospel produces a living hope, strengthens us to help one another, and brings healing even in seasons of hardship.
Whether you are weary, questioning, or seeking to live faithfully where God has placed you, this series will call you to walk confidently in His steps—right where you are.

2026 Poughkeepsie Passion Play Auditions
We are excited to announce that auditions for the 2026 Poughkeepsie Passion Play will take place Thursday and Friday, February 5th and 6th, 6:30-8:30pm at Living Water Church, 260 Mill Street in Poughkeepsie. You only need to attend one night. When you arrive, there will be a 2026 audition/participation form for you to fill out. There are cast needs as well as other areas to serve in. Everyone will need to fill out a form, regardless of where you wish to serve. The commitment will be once a month rehearsals (2 nights back to back) February-May. Nightly rehearsals June 14-17. Four performances June 18-20. Please prayerfully consider joining us this time as we present the 2026 Poughkeepsie Passion Play. Announcing LWC’s Women’s Fitness Ministry
We are excited to announce the launch of a Women’s Fitness Ministry!
We will meet every Saturday at 9:00 AM, beginning January 3rd—just in time to beat those winter blues. This ministry is open to women ages 13 and up (ages 13–15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
Each session will include a 40–45 minute workout, followed by a 10–15 minute devotional. All fitness levels are welcome! Every workout can be modified so everyone feels comfortable, supported, and included.
Our prayer is that this time will be one of encouragement, growth, and fellowship for the women of our church—and also a welcoming space to invite friends from outside the church. Our heart is for this to be a ministry first, reaching women who may feel hesitant to attend on a Sunday or who are seeking Christian fellowship and meaningful friendships.
LOVE INC Cookie Walk
Love Inc - a community ministry supported by LWC is hosting its annual Cookie Walk Fundraiser on Saturday, February 7, from 9AM-2PM at Poughkeepsie Methodist Church. Love Inc supports neighbors in need by connecting them with essential resources like linens, furniture, and personal care items, while also offering relational ministry classes that encourage a faith in Jesus.
If you’ve never been to a Cookie Walk, it’s a must visit - fun, festive and delicious!
